The Best Date Night Spots in London

Hey lovely followers,

London is the place to be for restaurants, bars and fun things to do, but all of that choice can be quite overwhelming when it comes to making a decision about where to spend your Friday night. So this week I thought I would share some of my favourite places in London for a date night. From fun, casual dates to ultra-swanky, anniversary-standard spots, I’ve put it all together right here for you.

Swingers

Perfect for a date night with a difference. Swingers have taken crazy golf to a whole new level – you can order cocktails directly on the course (which seriously improves your swing!) and there’s a real fun buzz about the place. Within the venue, there are pop-up food stalls. We opted for a Pizza Pilgrims pit-stop before getting our golfing grove on. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the potent cocktails for improving my skills tenfold and allowing me to defy all odd and actually win the game.

Pergola on the roof

Okay, maybe not a date ‘night’, but best suited for a date ‘day’. This Instagram-worthy rooftop bar is the place to be when the sun is shining. Enjoy an Aperol Spritz or a glass of Pimm’s while you admire the stunning surroundings (and your other half, obvs).  If you fancy food, there’s everything from burgers to Mexican wraps –  there are always the coolest pop-ups here. We went to the Paddington one and as it’s just around the corner from Little Venice, we decided to have a post-cocktail stroll along the river. It was so beautiful! But there’s also a new addition in Kensington Olympia so that’s pencilled in for our next outing.

Sky Garden

Watching the sun set over the city from the unique vantage point of an iconic skyscraper needs to be top of your London bucket list. The drinks were a little on the pricey side, but as entry is free, we didn’t mind paying a little more for a glass of fizz at the top. Booking was quite a mission as places fill up so quickly, so try and choose a weekday when the place isn’t as busy.

The Gong Bar at The Shard

One of the most romantic settings EVER. The Shangri-La oozes sophistication and style. We actually went here on a double date night and it was oh-so special. It’s best if you make a reservation, as walk-in slots are rare, but it’s definitely worth the forward planning. As we arrived we were shown to our table by the bar, but after ordering our very-fancy, theatrical cocktails we were kindly moved to a window table to enjoy the incredible views across London. Does it get much better than this?

The Ned

This cool city hangout is ideal for after work drinks with your beau. We went for food in the Italian restaurant which was lovely, but next time I’d probably just beeline for the bar. It’s super-swanky and perfect for a mid-week wind-down. Don’t forget to head to the loo, not to spend a penny, but to get a good snap for the gram – it includes a millennial pink seat (you can thank me later)!

MY FAVOURITE LONDON RESTAURANTS

The Landmark London

For something extra special, perhaps for an anniversary or birthday treat, I’d highly recommend The Landmark London. Their iconic winter garden is enough in itself to make your trip rather memorable, but just wait until the afternoon tea arrives. Food that gets more and more delicious each round, served with a glass of champagne and endless amounts of beautiful tea.

All Star Lanes
Westfield has undergone a huge transformation recently. Not only is it now even bigger (yay) and has a Primark (double yay), but the entertainment side of things has been stepped up another level from the usual Nando’s (not that there’s anything wrong with a cheeky Nando’s). There’s now All Star Lanes – which has bowling lanes but also a very nice bar and a karaoke room! A fun way to spend a date night. And for me it’s only a 10 minute walk around the corner. Dream combo!
