Hey folks,
This week I’m talking primers. There’s no point splashing out on fancy foundation if you don’t use a good primer – as the make-up will literally just slide off your face eventually. That’s why it’s so important that you ace your base. Here are some of my all-time favourite primers – and each one has its own unique selling point.
Bobbi Brown
First up there’s Bobbi Brown’s Vitamin Enriched Face Base. I see this product as a moisturiser-primer hybrid – ideal for the winter months when skin needs a little TLC. It’s a thick and creamy texture but it feels like butter to apply. It magically evens out the surface of the skin and gives a dewy base for gorgeously glowy make-up. If you suffer from oily skin, I’d steer clear of this one!
Make Up For Ever
Make UP For Ever’s Skin Equalizer is the answer to your prayers when it comes to pesky pores. I’ve got the smoothing version, but it’s also available in matte, radiant and colour-correcting. It’s silky-feel formula glides right over any pores, spots or imperfections to create a flawless base for foundation. It’s ideal for your T-zone area, where’s the Bobbi Brown one is better elsewhere. I literally could not live without this stuff!
PAUL & JOE
This Moisturising Foundation Primer from PAUL & JOE has so many selling points. First thing’s first, we have to discuss how pretty this bottle is. I never knew a primer could look so good! It wouldn’t look out of place on any dressing table next to a row of designer perfumes. This one is a winner when it comes to colour correcting. The nude formula (available in a few different shades) evens out any redness or dark patches so that you’re left with a black canvas for your make-up.
Delilah
All hail this Delilah Future Resist Foundation Primer. This one comes up trumps in the texture department. Some primers can end up leaving skin feeling a little chalky, but this one strikes the perfect balance between matte and moisturising. It’s great for everyday use and there’s no need to think about it – you just slather it on all over and move on to your make-up.
So there you have it, the perfect primers for a flawless base. Have you tried any of these beauties?
