Best Amazon Buys As A Breastfeeding Mum

Signing up for Amazon Prime was one of the best pieces of advice I was given ahead of welcoming my first child. The ability to get something delivered the next day, right to your door is a life saver. Not just the non-bio washing powder and the nappies that you will rattle through at a scary pace, but other essentials and amazing finds too. My breastfeeding journey has been really tough (and still is!) and through the struggles I’ve needed lots of last-minute supplies. Here are my best Amazon buys as a new mum who is breastfeeding.

Nipple cream

My number one recommendation for breastfeeding mamas is Lansinoh nipple cream. You will become best friends with this wonder potion and what’s good to know is that it is safe to feed with it on. I just wish I had started using it BEFORE my nipples cracked.

Nipple shields

A lifesaver if you end up with nipple damage! I used these on and off for weeks. Plus, the MAM nipple shields come in a handy little box that allows them to be sterilised in the microwave.

Disposable breastpads

You’ll need these to soak up any leaks. I tend to find my leaks happen overnight when my son sleeps for longer stretches and my breasts are fuller. Ladies with bigger boobs may find these Lansinoh ones better than the standard ones most brands have.

Washable breast pads

Realising I was going through the disposable ones so quickly, I invested in Lansinoh’s reusable ones, but the only problem with these you do have to wait for one of the two pairs to be out of the wash. (It’s important you wash them after each use to kill any germs.)

Haakaa milk collector

On the topic of leaks, I found that I had one breast that would leak if I fed my son on the other size first. This collection cup saves all of the excess milk that would have otherwise been wasted in a breast pad.

Breastfeeding vitamins

You need extra vitamin D while breastfeeding (and baby needs separate drops too!), but I figured I’d be best to get an all-rounder vitamin with other goodness in too. These Pregnacare vitamins are quite pricey but sometimes they are on offer.

Breastfeeding friendly dummies

Now, I get dummies are a controversial one but we decided we’d be happy to give our little one a dummy to keep him pacified. He struggled to take it at first and my quest for the perfect one led me here. These NUK dummies are supposed to mimic a nipple, giving your baby extra comfort.

Nursing bras

The bras I bought while pregnant turned out to be too small (sob!) so I had to do a panic order and Amazon came to the rescue big time! Not somewhere I’d normally think of for underwear (or clothes for that matter) but these nursing bras are SO good. Really comfy, wash well and they are affordable. You can’t go wrong!

I hope my top picks help out fellow mamas and mamas-to-be!
